The <senza-misura> element

A <senza-misura> element explicitly indicates that no time signature is present. The optional element content indicates the symbol to be used, if any. Content values “X” (corresponding to SMuFL timeSigX), ”~” (corresponding to SMuFL timeSigOpenPenderecki) and empty string (no symbol displayed) are generally recognized - all other values are application-dependent. The <time> element’s symbol attribute is not used when a <senza-misura> element is present.
